Privacy Policy
The Free plan shows one banner advertisement supplied by Google AdMob. Inventory data is never sent to the advertising provider. Where the law requires it, personalised advertising only happens with your consent, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
Pro Lifetime is a one-time upgrade that removes ads and adds advanced tools. At the effective date of this policy, purchasing is not yet enabled in the app, so no purchase can be completed.
1. Data the app stores
On your device, KlikStuff may store:
- item names, descriptions, categories, tags, brands, models, serial numbers, colours, quantities, conditions, purchase and warranty details, and values;
- photos you choose to attach to items or locations;
- home, room, shelf, cabinet, and box names and their hierarchy;
- optional GPS coordinates, accuracy, timestamp, and an optional user label;
- activity history such as items created, edited, moved, checked, lent, returned, consumed, archived, or deleted;
- collections, lending records (borrower name and optional contact), moving plans, and insurance-report metadata;
- if you run the optional OCR index, text recognised from your item photos and a small numerical visual fingerprint, both stored locally;
- app preferences such as theme, language, onboarding completion, recent searches, the last used location, the local Pro entitlement state, and your advertising consent choices.
None of the inventory data listed above is sent to KlikStuff or to any advertising provider.
2. Where data is stored
Inventory data is stored in an SQLite database and app-private photo storage on your device. Preferences, the local Pro entitlement state, and your advertising consent choices are stored on the device. KlikStuff does not operate a server for this build and does not upload your inventory.
3. Permissions and why they are requested
- Camera: to photograph an item or scan a QR label. Requested only when you open capture or scanning.
- Photos and gallery: to choose existing item photos. Requested only when you choose the gallery.
- Location (approximate or precise): to record a GPS point when you explicitly choose to do so. GPS is optional; indoor locations work without it. KlikStuff does not request background location, and recorded GPS points are not sent to the advertising provider.
- Internet: used for optional reverse geocoding (turning coordinates into an address), Google AdMob banner requests, Android's print and share services, and Google Play if a purchase is ever enabled. OCR and visual similarity run on-device and do not require it. Inventory creation and on-device search do not require it.
If you deny a permission, the related feature is unavailable, but the rest of the app continues to work.
4. When data leaves your device
KlikStuff does not sell your inventory and does not upload it. Data leaves the app only in these cases:
- You explicitly use share, export, backup, or print. Android's share or print sheet lets you choose the destination; that destination's own privacy policy applies.
- You request an address for a GPS point and reverse geocoding is available. The coordinates you choose to resolve may be sent to the platform geocoder provided by Google Play services for an ephemeral address lookup. If it is unavailable, KlikStuff keeps the coordinates without an address.
- A banner advertisement is requested from Google AdMob, as described in section 5.
- You send a rights request to the privacy contact.
OCR and visual search use Google ML Kit and local Dart code on your device. Photos, recognised text, and visual fingerprints are not uploaded by KlikStuff. The OCR index can be cleared from the OCR screen without deleting your photos.
5. Advertising, consent, and your choices
The Free plan displays one banner advertisement from Google AdMob on the home screen. Pro Lifetime removes the banner. The app does not show ads in photo capture, add/edit forms, galleries, destructive dialogs, search results, settings, backup, map, or on the Pro screen. There are no interstitial, rewarded, or app-open ads.
What the AdMob SDK may process: the advertising ID or a similar device identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from the network, device and app information, and ad interaction data. This data is used to serve, measure, limit, and secure advertising, and is processed under Google's privacy policy.
What is never sent to AdMob: item names, descriptions, photos, notes, tags, inventory GPS points, backups, or OCR text.
Legal basis in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland: your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the equivalent UK provision. Consent is collected with Google's User Messaging Platform, which is certified for IAB TCF v2.3. Your choices are passed to Google and to the ad technology providers listed by Google at support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903, so they can decide whether they may use your data. Some providers may rely on legitimate interest instead of consent for limited purposes; the consent message lets you object to those purposes.
How to change or withdraw consent: open Settings → Privacy options in the app. This reopens the privacy message and updates your choice immediately. The row is shown while the law in your region requires a consent message. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and manage ad personalisation for your Google account at adssettings.google.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect your use of the app, and the Free plan remains available.
If you decline personalised advertising, the app may show no banner at all, or Google may serve non-personalised or limited ads where permitted. Inventory features are unaffected.
US state privacy laws: where a US state law applies to you, you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Advertising identifiers processed by the ad SDK may count as sharing for that purpose. Use Settings → Privacy options to opt out, or contact us using section 14. KlikStuff does not sell inventory data for money, and we do not discriminate against you for opting out.
Retention of advertising data is controlled by Google under its own retention policies. KlikStuff does not store advertising data on a server.
6. Pro Lifetime and purchases
At the effective date of this policy, Pro Lifetime cannot be purchased in the app: the Google Play billing flow is not enabled and no price is shown. No payment can be completed and no payment data is collected.
If purchasing is enabled later, Pro Lifetime will be a one-time purchase processed by Google Play. KlikStuff will not receive your payment card details; Google Play handles payment and billing records. The app stores a local entitlement flag so Pro survives an app restart, and that flag will be backed by a verified Google Play purchase token and restored through Google Play.
You can use the Free plan indefinitely without buying Pro. Inventory, photos, locations, search, GPS, and local backup/restore remain available without a purchase. Clearing your inventory data does not change a purchase that Google Play associates with your account.
7. Backups and exports
Encrypted backups are created locally and protected by a passphrase you choose. KlikStuff does not receive the passphrase and cannot recover it. If you lose the passphrase, the backup cannot be decrypted. JSON and CSV exports are plain files and are not encrypted; treat them as sensitive. JSON/CSV export is a Pro feature; encrypted local backup and restore remain Free.
8. Retention and deletion
Your data remains on the device until you delete it. You can:
- delete individual items, with explicit confirmation;
- delete empty locations only, so contents are not silently lost;
- use Settings → Clear all data to remove the inventory, photos, activity, and preferences from this device;
- uninstall the app, which removes app-private data according to Android's behaviour.
Backups and exports that you shared outside the app are outside KlikStuff's control. Delete them from their destination separately.
Step-by-step deletion instructions, including what is deleted, what is kept, and retention periods, are published at klikstuff-legal.pages.dev/delete-account.
9. Security
KlikStuff uses app-private storage, parameterised SQLite queries, and AES-256-GCM encryption with Argon2id key derivation for backups. Network requests from the app, including AdMob banner requests and reverse geocoding, use HTTPS. No security measure is perfect. Protect your device with a screen lock and keep your backup passphrase safe.
10. Children
KlikStuff is a general household utility and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no account system, and inventory data stays on the device. The advertising provider may process device data as described in section 5. If you believe a child has used the app and you want advertising data handled differently, contact us using section 14.
11. Your rights
Because inventory data stays on your device, you can access, correct, export, or delete it directly in the app.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access your personal data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, withdraw advertising consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal, and does not affect processing based on another legal basis.
If you are in a US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information is processed, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. KlikStuff has no account system, so most requests need no identity verification beyond the device controls described above.
If you are in Indonesia, the Personal Data Protection Law gives you rights of access, correction, deletion, and withdrawal of consent for personal data processing that applies to you.
We aim to respond to rights requests within 30 days. Use the contact details in section 14.
12. International transfers
KlikStuff does not transfer inventory data off your device. Advertising and geocoding requests are handled by Google, which may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Google states that it relies on appropriate safeguards for those transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable. Details are in Google's privacy policy.
13. Changes
This policy may be updated when features change. The effective date at the top will change, and the updated policy will be bundled with the app and published with the store listing. If a change materially affects advertising consent, the app will ask for your consent again.
